DESCRIPTION:A two-and-a-half week long course taught in English dedicated to candidates with a medical or scientific training background who are interested in all aspects of this topic: medical students\, scientific Master II and PhD students (Immunology\, Bacteriology\, Parasitology\, Virology…)\, physicians\, pharmacists\, veterinarians. The course offers lectures on the players and on the mechanisms of the innate immune system and inflammation involved in the defense of the host against pathogens. SUMMARY:International Congress of Immunology Beijing 2019
DESCRIPTION:IUIS 2019 Beijing\, the 17th International Congress of Immunology\, is the leading international event for the immunology community. In 2019\, it will take place in Beijing from 19th to 23rd October. IUIS 2019 Beijing brings together over 5\,000 experts from all over the world\, including international leaders at the forefront of the discipline in basic immunology and clinical translation.\nWe welcome worldwide experts to submit an abstract by May 20th – outstanding abstracts have the chance to be awarded with the following travel grants: AAI Travel Awards\, EFIS-EJI Travel Grant\, ASI Special Travel Award and CSI-African Travel Award. \n \nSSI will award up to 20 travel grants to applicants who fulfill our eligibility criteria (Member of a national society at the year of application; Master/PhD trainees and Post-doctoral fellows up to 5 “working years” after PhD; Presenting author for an accepted meeting abstract.). \nApplication procedure: Please apply via the IUIS website\, for an EFIS/EJI Travel Award https://iuis2019.org/efis-eji-travel-grants/ \nIf you are not successful for this award\, then your application will be transferred to SSI.\nNote that there are different eligibility requirements for EFIS/EJI and SSI awards. If you fulfill the SSI requirements (< 5yrs post-PhD) but not EFIS (older than 35)\, then submit via the IUIS/EFIS system anyway\, and your application will be passed on to SSI.\nThe EFIS/EJI awards will be announced by July 1\, and the SSI awards will be announced immediately afterwards\, latest July 5.

SUMMARY:11th South Eastern European Immunology School (SEEIS)
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, \nwe extended the deadline to apply for the  11th South Eastern European Immunology School (SEEIS) until July 14\, 2019. However\, there are only a few free places left. Therefore\, please tell interested PhD students\, postdocs and young clinicians to apply as soon as possible. \nThe school held in Pristina\, Kosovo\, from September 27th to 30th  (Friday to Monday)\, 2019\, will have a major focus on transmitting modern immunology to advanced students\, doctors and young investigators interested in the state-of-art immunology. The school is also suitable for students and physicians with low knowledge\, because there will be introductory lectures about more basic facts in immunology. \nA group of international speakers will ensure a highly interactive\, scientifically stimulative and intense conference program. They will highlight recent advances in inflammation research\, T and B cell biology\, immunogenetics\, MHC and infection\, autoimmunity\, diagnostics of autoimmune diseases and updates on new technologies and products. \nMoreover\, there will be practical courses in fluorescence microscopy for autoantibody detection and in flow cytometry using an Accuri flow cytometer. \nThere is no fee for attendance and the organizing committee can offer fellowships that will cover accommodation and part of the travel costs. We encourage young researchers from the South Eastern European region to apply for the school.  All  participants will have an opportunity of constant interaction and exchanges with the faculty members. \nPlease distribute this information within your society and encourage your students and interested colleagues to apply for participation. \nAll information can be found on the website: www.bnitm.de/seeis2019 \nThis school has been held 10 times – it was always a great success! \nRead more
