Grants

Travel Grants for the upcoming ECI meeting and the 50th Annual Meeting of the SSI will be announced at a later time!

The 49th Annual Meeting took place in Turku, Finland, June 4-7 June, 2023.

Deadline for early registration was: 26 April, 2023

Deadline for abstract submission was: 1 March, 2023

Travel Grants for Master/PhD students and post-doctoral fellows were available. To be eligible to apply, the following 3 criteria must be fulfilled:

  • You need to be a member of a national society (Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian or Swedish Immunology Society) as of January 2023 or earlier.
  • You need to be a Master/PhD trainee or Post-doctoral fellow with up to 5 ‘working years’ (documented maternity and sick leave or military service discounted) after PhD.
  • You need to be presenting author for a submitted meeting abstract.

Applicants are asked to include a letter from their supervisor certifying their status as a student or postdoc within the 5-year time limit.

When the abstract submission deadline has lapsed, the scientific committee will evaluate all eligible applicants based on the quality and scientific merit of the submitted abstracts.

The national society membership requirement will be checked directly with the national societies. Successful applicants will be notified directly. Note that for the award of travel grants, awardees must be present at the General Assembly of the Scandinavian Society for Immunology, which will take place Tuesday June 6th.

SSI looks forward seeing you next year!

Grants for Scandinavian Exchange

SSI wants to promote new collaborations between Scandinavian researchers.

You are therefore also eligible to apply for a 1000 euro grant from SSI to finance exchange with a lab in another Scandinavian country. Both the applicant and the host lab PI should be members of SSI (members of the National Immunological Societies are automatically also SSI members). Applications should be sent by e-mail to Marit Inngjerdingen (marit.inngjerdingen@medisin.uio.no).

The application should include information on the place of exchange, duration of the stay including planned dates, a budget with the sum applied, a short description of the project as well as a motivation how this exchange promotes new collaboration. A letter of invitation from the hosting laboratory should also be included.
