Professorship in Immunology University of Bergen Norway

At the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen a call for a fulltime professorship in immunology and Head of the Broegelman Research Laboratory will be posted in March-2020. The University of Bergen is a renowned research and teaching institution comprising seven faculties including the Faculty of Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine harbours cutting edge research facilities (e.g. core facilities, structured PhD program etc.) and is closely linked to the Haukeland University Hospital.


The successful applicant shall lead the Broegelmann Research Laboratory (, including a responsibility for the thematically focused Bergen Research School in Inflammation ( It is expected that the successful candidate has international experience and abilities to obtain additional national and international funding.


This professorship in immunology is a permanent position and is unique as it offers annual research funding of 500 K Euros (incl. salary) on a long-term basis. In addition, a significant 5 year starting package from the University of Bergen will be provided.
